An exhibition highly acclaimed by both critics and public

The Steve McCurry exhibition truly appealed to the hearts of its public, attracting over 120,000 visitors in 6 months. Covering more than 35 years of his career, the photographer’s 200 portraits seduced curiosity-seekers entering La Sucrière, an emblematic site in the Docks of Lyon area, which was a particularly suitable location with respect to the exhibition’s scenography.

Visitors were presented with a raw and unpretentious journey, with simple and well-lighted staging to highlight Steve McCurry’s incredible portraits taken in Afghanistan, India, Southeast Asia, Africa, Cuba, the United States, Brazil, and Italy, all authentic testimonials of our current history.

La Sucrière, a rising cultural venue in France

As a reminder, this traveling exhibition is the largest and most complete retrospective dedicated to the work of the great American photographer. Lyon was the exhibition’s only stop in France.

Following this confirmed success, other major projects with the exhibition’s organizers are likely to be coming soon to La Sucrière... stay tuned for more news!!
